Strings by the Sea, August 3-7, 2015

Strings by the Sea is committed to welcoming and including all students, regardless of family income. In order to be able to continue this policy, we must ask that only those families who are experiencing true financial distress apply for our very limited number of Partial Tuition Work Scholarships.  Due to the expenses associated with holding a music camp, we depend on full tuition payments from all those who are able to do so. Partial Tuition Work Scholarships are strictly reserved for those families who, without these options, simply would have no means to send their children to Strings by the Sea.  We thank you for your help in making sure that no child is left out because of lack of funds. Scholarships are partially funded by Ted Delevoryas, and by the Center for Teaching Critical Thinking and Creativity, San Diego State University. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please do not hesitate to call Karla Holland-Moritz at (858) 277-7543 or Glen Campbell at (619) 287-9826.

All families who wish to apply for a Partial Tuition Work Scholarship or a Viola Scholarship MUST  follow the steps below.

Partial Tuition Work Scholarships

A very limited number of need-based partial tuition work scholarships are available through Strings by the Sea for those students who would not be able to attend Strings by the Sea without assistance. The work for these scholarships is done principally by the parents, though students and other family members may assist with work that takes place before the beginning of the camp week, or the clean-up work at the end of the camp week.

To apply for a Partial Tuition Work Scholarship:

First fill out the online Partial Tuition Work Scholarship application. When we notify you of your acceptance for the Partial Tuition Work Scholarship, we will send you a link to the special online Enrollment Form for students receiving a Partial Tuition Work Scholarship.

Viola Scholarships
Strings by the Sea is pleased to offer viola scholarships for 2015. Tuition for all viola students will be $235. The $235 tuition applies to Full-Day Campers, Half-Day Campers, and Sibling Discount Campers (both Full and Half-Day). Viola Scholarships are not work scholarships, nor are they based on financial need. Viola Scholarship applicants may be exclusively studying viola, or they may be violin students who are also studying viola.
If a student plays violin and viola, is receiving a viola scholarship, and wishes to play both violin and viola at Strings by the Sea, please indicate this on the Viola Scholarship application. It may be possible to play both instruments, depending on camp needs, and at the discretion of the Camp Directors.

To apply for a Viola Scholarship:

First fill out the online Viola Scholarship application. After receiving a reply to your request for a viola scholarship, please proceed to enroll online.

Please email us at or call Karla Holland-Moritz (858) 277-7543 or Glen Campbell (619) 287-9826 if you need more information.
