2008 Full Tuition Viola Scholarships
Strings by the Sea is pleased to offer full tuition viola
scholarships for 2008. These scholarships are not based
on need, nor are they work scholarships. The requirements
are:
1. The student must have had a minimum of
five months of private Suzuki viola lessons before August
4, 2008.
2. Strings by the Sea must receive a letter
of recommendation from the student's Suzuki viola
teacher, to be sent
with the camp application forms. This letter
should document when the student began viola studies,
as well as describe the level of the student's
viola playing.
3. Recipients of the Viola Scholarship
may be violists, or violinists who also play viola. If
the recipient also studies violin, she or he may choose
to play violin for some classes, but will be required
to play viola for certain classes such as chamber
ensemble, chamber orchestra
or orchestra (depending
on the student's level of playing), and other
classes at the discretion of the Camp Directors.
