2008 Classes

Strings by the Sea, August 4-8, 2008

Classes, held in a nurturing, cooperative, family atmosphere, are Monday, August 4 through Friday, August 8, 2008 from 9am to 4pm, and include:

  • Repertoire and technique classes for violin, viola and cello
  • Chamber music, for players in Suzuki book 5 and above
  • Chamber orchestra, for players in Suzuki book 3 and 4
  • String orchestra, for players in Suzuki books 1 and 2
  • Pre-Twinkle classes for students who have not yet reached their 6th birthday by Monday, August 4, 2008, and who are not yet playing Lightly Row, will be held Monday, August 4th through Friday, August 8th, 2008, from 9am to 12 noon
  • For students who are playing Lightly Row or beyond, and who have not reached their 7th birthday by August 4th, 2008, a Special Shortened Day Session, Monday, August 4th-Friday, August 8th, 2008, 9am to 2pm with age appropriate classes.
  • Fiddling
  • Jazz
  • Alexander technique
  • Student and faculty recitals

Classes will be held in the Cooper Music Building on the campus of Point Loma Nazarene University, San Diego, California. All campers will perform in a final group concert on Friday afternoon at 3pm in Crill Auditorium. Family, friends, and the public are invited to this free concert. A pizza party for campers and paid guests will immediately follow the concert.
